How the first hour of the day could be hiding the key to your success

Life without a purpose is a languid, drifting thing; every day we ought to review our purpose, saying to ourselves, This day let me make a sound beginning. ”

– Thomas Kempis

You get up in the morning, eat breakfast, wash and then go to work. What if merely doing all this could make a significant impact in your life?

Did you know that most successful people have some morning routine?

Enjoy your bed
The first tip is getting to bed at a decent time the night before. How often do we stay up late to finish off things that aren’t that important or could be done the next day, probably twice as fast with better results?

Don’t set the alarm if you can help it
I have found that if I get to bed at say, 10 pm then waking up at 6 am comes naturally.
I will set the alarm if there’s something important to do the next day but not until the latest time I would need to get up.
Meaning if I need extra sleep I get it, and if not I’ll wake up refreshed in the right part of my circadian rhythm.
The problem with an alarm is that if you’re in the middle of rem (rapid eye movement) sleep cycle, it can leave you feeling groggy.

Do the hardest thing first
Don’t overlook exercise when you’re busy or tired.
It’s important to strike first thing; if you have an exercise addiction or a class in the evening then maybe this won’t apply to you, instead do whatever you find the most onerous task of the day.
Completing the most laborious task will get you set up in a great mood as the rest of the day will be comfortable in comparison.

“To understand the immeasurable, the mind must be extraordinarily quiet, still.”

–  Jiddu Krishnamurti

Meditation
Meditation can be super beneficial to set up your day in a positive way.
If it’s something that you find confusing, use an app like insight timer and commit to doing just one minute or 2 minutes a day minimum.
All these actions will help to build up the habit muscle.
Once the routine becomes a habit, it will be as easy as the negative routine you’re probably doing right now.

Eat for success
Also, don’t forget to eat a healthy plant-based breakfast.
I have oats, almond milk with blueberries, bananas, goji berries, chia seeds and flax seeds.
